Hello! Welcome to Two Traveling Idiots and welcome to our “About Us” page. My name is Eric and along with my fiancé Shelby, we’ve undertaken a goal for ourselves of traveling extensively and crossing “bucket list” trips off our to-do list now without waiting until we’re too old to enjoy them; or even worse- never go at all!We decided to start this blog as a way catalogue our trips and destinations, as well as share our Idiot travel lessons we learned along the way. Additionally, we hoped to encourage some of you to make travel a priority, as we try to do.Shelby and I have come to believe that exploring the world and as many of it’s wonders as we can makes us better people and more appreciative of what we have. Immersing ourselves into local culture and exploring food, drinks, transportation, lodging, tourist sights, and many things off the beaten path that are often overlooked or missed all together! Doing all of this on a budget and in a cost effective way can be challenging, but ultimately the most fulfilling thing that we do…So back to a little more About Us…Shelby and I both come from traveling backgrounds independently, but as a couple we have learned to maximize our experience(s). We both work fulltime and still make time for travel whether it be internationally, domestically, or a quick couple day road trip- so you have no excuses! We are originally from Chicago, but about 4 years ago we packed it up, said “Goodbye!” to the frigid cold winters, and settled in beautiful Nashville, TN. Our decision to move was based, in part, on our love of all things new. Tennessee provides us with an abundance of outdoor activities, excellent weather, longer summers and mild winters, as much nightlife as we deem necessary, and a ton of food options. This last point was important for us as Shelby is a vegan and I am not. This is another point we try to include in our reviews of destinations. We love to eat and just assume everyone else does as well! We do a lot of research to ensure that we have unique food options that satisfy Shelby and my dietary preferences. We’ll make sure to pass these tips on as well. Now that this blog is up and running, it was not lost on us that we started a travel blog in a time where the whole world is locked down and very few people are actually traveling. Maybe this was an Idiot move on our part, but more so, maybe we can encourage people to look forward and take advantage of a time when leaving our living rooms is again an option..So thank you for stopping by and checking out our blog. We hope we can encourage and motivate would-be travelers to get away from getting lost in analysis paralysis and just pull the trigger on a deeper and more fulfilling travel orientated lifestyle!Great to meet you & Happy Travels!Eric & Shelby
